The Vitamin A Peel is used to improve skin health and to restore a healthy glow. This peel works by activating cell turnover, to exfoliate the surface cells, helping unclog pores and lift pigmentation. The Vitamin A Peel is a retinoid acid peel.

We consider the Vitamin A peel safe for most skin types; however, we will assess your skin to determine the most suitable peel for your skin type and concern

How many treatments will I need?

This will depend on your main concern and condition of your skin. Between 3-6 regular treatments to treat most skin concerns. We would also create you a maintenance plan and home care routine to ensure your results are long lasting and maintained.

Pre treatment 

You must prepare your skin with prescribed skincare for two weeks prior to your session to ensure all your cells are strengthened and prepared for your peel.  Preparing the treatment area is essential to its success and helps minimise your healing time. Following our expert advice on pre and post care plus maintenance, contributes to 70% of your treatment’s success.

  • You must apply a SPF 50+ containing zinc for two to four weeks prior to the treatment date.
  • Use corrective prescribed skincare by your therapist for 2 weeks prior to your appointment.
  • Avoid direct sun exposure for two to four weeks prior to treatment.
  • No spray tans
  • Avoid UV/heat-based treatments (sauna/tanning bed) for two weeks prior.
  • Arrive to your appointment with cleansed skin and no lotions.
  • Be sure to notify your therapist if you’re on any medication – this includes contraception and vitamins.
  • Do not use serums/lotions with active ingredients one week prior to your treatment.
  • Do not use filler four weeks prior to treatment.
  • Do not use Botox two weeks prior to treatment.
  • Avoid facial waxing or laser hair removal for two weeks prior to being treated.
  • If you’re prone to herpes simplex, you must use Zovirax for five days before and after intensive treatment.
  • If you have an autoimmune disease, you must be on oral antibiotics during the healing period.
  • Apply sunscreen every morning and reapply after four hours if you’re in water or direct sunlight. Ensure your sunscreen SPF is 50+ UVA and UVB.

Post Treatment

  • You may experience darkening/shedding of pigment lesions, do not pick, or exfoliate them, allow them to come away themselves.
  • Do not apply any makeup for 24-48 hours after your treatment.
  • Avoid strenuous exercise and/or swimming, sun exposure, cooking over a hot stove or oven,
  • hot showers or anything that will heat the skin for 24-48 hours.
  • Avoid the use of active ingredients (AHA, Retinols, Acidic) for one week.
  • Avoid anti-inflammatory medications (antihistamine).
  • No waxing or laser hair removal on the treated area for two weeks.
  • Avoid chlorinated water for 72 hours.
  • You need to use sunscreen to prevent sun damage to the skin. Use sunscreen with SPF 50 or above UVA/UVB broad-spectrum daily and reapply regularly.
  • Try to avoid direct sun exposure for two weeks. If you are prone to herpes simplex, you must use Zovirax for two days before and five days after intensive treatment.
  • If you have an autoimmune disease, you must be on oral antibiotics during the healing period.
  • When cleansing and applying the post-care products make sure you dab them on lightly and don’t wipe the skin as it can cause a reaction.
